Mistletoe and Holly Coloring Page

A sprig of holly with pointed leaves is tied with a large ribbon bow, and three round berries hang below. The leaf edges and the bow add some detail, so this page is better for ages six to ten. It can be colored with pencils for even shading or with markers for a bold result.

Coloring ideas

• Use two or three greens for the leaves and keep the veins a darker shade.
• Color the berries red, or white for mistletoe berries.
• Make the bow red or gold and add a pattern to the ribbon.
• Shade each leaf lightly from the center out for depth.

Quick learning activity

Holly and mistletoe are both evergreen plants that people have used as winter decorations for a long time. Ask your child why they think plants that stay green in winter became part of the season, and look for other evergreens outside, such as pine and ivy.
