A burger takes up most of this page, drawn from the side so each layer can be seen: a bun with sesame seeds on top, a wavy leaf of lettuce, a slice of cheese, a patty and a bottom bun. A carton of long French fries stands on the right.
Ideas for coloring
- A golden brown bun with tiny cream-coloured seeds.
- Lettuce in bright green and cheese in orange or yellow, so each layer is easy to tell apart.
- A dark brown patty. Try lighter and darker patches for a grilled look.
- Fries in pale yellow with a few golden tips, in a red or striped carton.
- Add your own toppings, such as tomato slices or onion rings, by drawing over the layers.
Good to know
A burger is built in layers, and the order changes how it tastes and how easily it holds together. Look at the picture and name each layer from the top to the bottom. Fries are potatoes cut into sticks and cooked until crisp. Counting the sesame seeds is a simple extra activity for younger children.
