A tall pineapple stands at the back, covered in a diamond pattern with a spiky crown of leaves. In front are a smooth oval mango and a papaya cut in half to show its seeds. A large leaf lies under the fruit.

Ideas for coloring

  • Pineapple skin in gold and brown, with a green crown.
  • Mango in orange, yellow and a blush of red.
  • Papaya flesh in orange or pink, with black or dark brown seeds in the hollow.
  • A leaf in several greens with lighter lines for the veins.
  • Fill each diamond on the pineapple with a slightly different shade for a textured look.

Good to know

These fruits grow in warm places near the equator. A pineapple grows from the middle of a plant close to the ground, not on a tree. Mango and papaya do grow on trees. Ask your child to look at the world map and find some places where these fruits grow.
