This page shows a single hockey helmet with a wire face cage, with a round puck resting next to it. The lines are bold, and the cage bars make a grid of small shapes to fill in.
Some areas inside the helmet are dark in the drawing, so you can keep those black or colour over them with a deep shade.
Ideas for coloring
- Colour the shell in your favourite team colours and add a stripe along the top.
- Use grey or silver for the cage bars and a darker pencil behind them.
- Make the puck black or dark grey and add a small highlight with a white gap.
- Try a gold or red shell for a team look.
Why players wear helmets
Hockey players wear helmets to protect their heads from falls, sticks and pucks. Many also wear a cage or visor across the face and a mouthguard. The helmet is adjustable so it fits snugly. A puck is a hard rubber disc, about three inches wide, and it can travel very fast when shot.
