Slices of citrus fruit are spread across the page in a loose ring. Each slice is a circle with a thick rind and a star-like pattern of segments, and two whole lemons with pointed ends sit among them. One larger slice sits in the middle.

Ideas for coloring

  • Oranges in orange with a lighter shade between the segments.
  • Lemons in bright yellow, and limes in green.
  • Leave the thin lines between segments white, or colour them in a pale shade.
  • Rind in a darker version of the fruit colour.
  • Try colouring the slices in a repeating colour pattern around the ring.

Good to know

Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, limes and grapefruit. Inside, they are split into segments, and each one is a small juicy section. The sour taste of lemons and limes comes from citric acid. Ask your child to count the segments in a few of the slices. The number is usually between eight and twelve.
