How long-haul trucks work
A semi truck is made of two parts: the tractor, which holds the engine and the driver, and the trailer, which carries the load. The two join at a round plate called the fifth wheel, so the trailer can swing around corners. The extra wheels spread the weight of a heavy load across the road.
