The round tank is the main shape on this page. Rings mark the tank at the ends, and a ladder leads to a hatch on top. The cab is square, with a wide grille, and the truck stands on three axles.
Ideas for coloring
- Colour the tank in silver, white or a bright colour of your choice.
- Use a different tone for the ring bands.
- Colour the ladder and hatch darker.
- Add a road and a hillside behind.
Why tanks are round
A cylinder spreads the weight of liquid evenly over its walls and stops the contents sliding sharply. Dividers inside some tanks keep milk, water or fuel from sloshing while the truck brakes. The hatch on top is used for filling and cleaning. Try colouring the tank in a metallic way by leaving a strip of white along the top for a shine, and shade the lower side a little darker.
