Star Coloring Pages
Free printable star coloring pages: five-point stars, shooting stars, starry skies and patterned stars.
About these coloring pages
A star is one of the first shapes a child learns to draw, and it works well as a coloring subject because it can be a single bold shape or a field of tiny ones. These pages include one large five-point star divided into patterned sections, a shooting star with a long trail, a night sky with many stars and a crescent moon, a border of stars and swirls, a cartoon star with a face and small arms, a round mandala built from layered stars, and a spaceship passing ringed planets.
The stars in the sky are not all alike. Real stars differ in color, from blue-white to orange-red, and the hottest ones look blue. A child who knows this can color the sky with several star colors instead of all yellow. A shooting star is not a star at all but a small piece of rock or dust burning up as it enters the atmosphere, usually for less than a second.
The big star and the star mandala have repeating sections, which suit a child who likes to plan a color pattern. The night sky has many small shapes and suits patient older children. The cartoon star and the border are quick, with large areas.
Pages suit ages 3 to 10. Print on US Letter or A4 paper. All pages are free for home and classroom use.
