This page shows a small market stall. A scalloped awning covers the top, and a counter below it is stacked with many pieces of fruit. Three wooden crates in front hold more apples. There is plenty of detail here, so it suits older children who like to colour small areas.
Ideas for coloring
- Awning in alternating stripes of red and white, or green and yellow.
- Fruit in several colours: red apples, orange oranges, yellow lemons and green pears.
- Wooden crates in warm brown, with darker lines for the boards.
- Use a lighter shade for the stall frame so the fruit stands out.
Good to know
Markets let people buy food that farms have grown nearby. Sellers often put the freshest fruit at the front so shoppers can see it. Ask your child to pretend to run the stall, to decide the price of each crate and to work out how much two apples and one pear would cost.
